Counselor Hesham Fathi Ragab joined Bank Audi as Chief General Legal Counsel since 2008. He was a member of the Egyptian Judiciary and served as a bench judge in different court levels and his last post was in Cairo Appellate Court for 23 years. He was a member of the legislative department in the Ministry of Justice for 5 years since 2001 and has participated in drafting important economic legislations until his appointment by the Prime Minister to serve as a member of the National Commission for Economic Legislations.
He has served as an Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing consultant for the World Bank, United Nations Office for Drug Control and Crime Prevention (UNDOC) and the Central Bank of Egypt. ِ He was also appointed by the Prime Minister in 2010 as member of the National Anti-Money Laundering Coordination Committee at CBE.
Lately, he was seconded by the judiciary to work as Deputy for the Minister of Trade and Industry for Legal, Legislative and Internal Trade affairs; and was appointed as a board member of the Unfair Competition Authority, Internal Trade Development Authority and the Egyptian Regulatory Reform and Development Activity.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He was appointed as member in the Egyptian Regulatory reform & Development Activity's (ERRADA) Board of trustees from 2008 and was appointed by a presidential decree as a member of the Higher Committee for legislative reform presided by the Prime Minister, and was designated as the vice chairperson of the Economic legislations Committee in 2014.
Counselor Ragab obtained both his Law Degree and Masters degree from the University of Alexandria Law School. He then obtained his LL.M degree from Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis in 2007.
