Zaki has been an Adjunct Professor of Applied Finance and International Economics at New York University, USA, along with more than 45 years of experience in senior executive positions in Corporate Finance/ Investment banking as well as Treasury and Capital Markets at both Chase Manhattan Bank and Merrill Lynch in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Tokyo.
Zaki holds an MBA and Master’s degree in International Economics/ Finance from Syracuse University in New York, USA in 1981, with a number of Management and Finance training programs at University of Toronto, George Brown College, Cornell University and London School of Economics. Also, he obtained Investment Certifications with NYSE- New York Stock Exchange, and NASD and CBOT- Chicago Board of Trade as well as MATIF in Paris- France- Marché a Terme International de France.
Also, Zaki was a managing director and senior partner at Alpha Asia Finance; an investment banking boutique in Singapore; later sold to a group of investors in Asia.
Zaki has been an adviser and senior consultant for U.S. Treasury Department, Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC, Chemonics International, PwC in Hong Kong & Tokyo, Bank of Japan, Temasek Holdings in Singapore, GIC (Singaporean Sovereign Wealth Fund)- Standard Chartered Bank in London and Asia (Risk Management and CAD 2), RHB Sakura in Malaysia, Merrill Lynch Tokyo, HSBC in London and a number of major Wall Street banks and other financial institutions in the Gulf (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain), Latin America and Asia.
Areas of advisory/consultancy covered corporate valuation, Mergers & Acquisitions, Trading Strategies, running derivatives books (Interest rate and credit default swaps as well as commodity/ Forex derivatives), Bond Portfolio Management & Asset Allocation, Hedging Applications and Credit Restructuring Techniques.
Also, he lectured extensively at Association des Banques Libanaises in Beirut, Lebanon as well as Jordan, Tunis and Morocco in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management, Basel applications and Asset/ Liability Managemrnt- ALM.
He was an executive board member on the Board of Directors of some banks in Singapore and Malaysia.
Currently, Zaki is an Executive Vice President & Director at New York Institute of Finance and a Managing Director at Global Finance Associates in the United States.
